May is known as the month of the flowers, and it's also the month in which we celebrate Mother’s Day. The most recognizable characteristics of this holiday are the displays of love and affection we prepare and give to the one who gave us life and/or raised us, and whose presence is simply irreplaceable.
If you are looking for something that will contribute to her enjoyment of the day, send her Mother's Day flowers.
Below you will find all the great options we have, but first…
Where does this tradition come from?
This celebration comes from the ancient Greeks. In the beginning of the Spring, they honored Rea, the mother of all gods, and gave her presents and celebrated her. However, in the United States the celebration of this date started in 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday of May as Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day flowers: joyous and the colorful
Is there a better way to show your love than with a colorful bouquet? This bouquet contains mini-hydrangeas, pompons, roses, and mini carnations. The hydrangeas are associated with abundance, gratitude, and grace.
If you combine them with roses and carnations of soft colors, you will always have something that immediately says “motherhood”. They will also bring joy and signify what it means to profess a deep, honest, and devoted love.
You can include a card in the bouquet with a message like this one:
The little eyes you gave me. I have to spend them to follow you by the valleys, by the sky and by the sea…
These Gabriela Mistral’s verses, from the poem Caress, are meant to convey the following idea: the recipient of these verses is the most beautiful thing you have in front of you.
The bouquet Mother’s Day Flowers and Women:
Mums are associated with eternity and perfection. If you include orange mums (which indicates a delicate love) and pink carnations (maternal love and friendship) in your bouquet, you will be able to express to your mother that you are grateful for every day you have spent together, for always finding the comfort of her warm embrace and for always caring for you.
You can accompany this bouquet with the poem My mother's hands, wrote by the Salvadoran author Alfredo Espino:
My mother's hands, so caressing, so silky, so from hers, white and benevolent. Only her hands are the saints, are the lovers, those who lavish everything and claim nothing!
Send Mother’s Day flowers: Lily Bouquet
Lilies are symbols of perfection, beauty, purity, and transformation. A bouquet of lilies and roses, pompons, molucellas, and mini carnations is simple, but its colors transmit natural beauty, gratitude, love and pride.
Lilies bloom even under the hardest of conditions and in doing so they astonish the world. We can say the same about some mothers and, what's more, they light up the world with their light, their big hearts, and their devotion. This is the reason the poet William Blake praised this flower in one of his poems, The Lilly, by saying:
The modest Rose puts forth a thorn. The humble sheep a threat’ning horn: While the Lily white shall in love delight, Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.
Honor your mother’s shining light with this beautiful poem on her Mother’s Day card.
